Refund and Returns Policy

Last updated: 18 October 2026

This Refund and Returns Policy explains when and how you can cancel a BullHost service and get your money back. BullHost sells digital services only — web hosting, VPS and dedicated servers, domain names and related add-ons. Because nothing physical is shipped, there is nothing to “return”: a refund means cancelling the service and closing the account or server. This policy forms part of our Terms of Service and does not limit any rights you have under EU and Maltese consumer law.

1. 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee (Shared Hosting)

We want you to be happy with BullHost. If you are not satisfied with your shared web hosting plan (for example, Bull Starter and other shared/WordPress hosting packages), you can cancel within 30 days of your first payment and receive a full refund of the hosting fee.

The guarantee applies when:

  • It is your first purchase of that hosting plan with BullHost (renewals, upgrades and repeat sign-ups are not covered);
  • You request the cancellation within 30 calendar days of the original order date;
  • The account has not been suspended or terminated for breaching our Terms of Service or Acceptable Use Policy (spam, malware, phishing, illegal content, abuse of resources, fraud, chargebacks).

We cover both monthly and yearly plans. After 30 days, we don’t offer refunds for the remaining period, but you can cancel at any time to stop the next renewal.

2. VPS and Dedicated Servers

VPS and dedicated servers are provisioned and paid for with our infrastructure partners as soon as you order, so they are not covered by the 30-day money-back guarantee. However:

  • If you are a consumer in the EU, you keep your 14-day right of withdrawal (see section 4). If you asked us to start the service immediately, the refund will be reduced by the amount for the days the server was active.
  • If a server cannot be delivered, or has a serious fault that we are unable to fix within a reasonable time, we will refund the unused part of the period.
  • Custom configurations, additional IP addresses, licences (e.g. control panel or OS licences) and setup fees are non-refundable once provisioned.

3. Non-Refundable Items

The following cannot be refunded once the service has been delivered, because the cost is incurred immediately and cannot be recovered:

  • Domain registrations, transfers and renewals — domains are sold separately from hosting and are not included free with any plan. Once a domain is registered, transferred or renewed, the fee is paid to the registry and cannot be refunded. The domain remains yours for the paid period, even if you cancel your hosting.
  • SSL certificates purchased from a certificate authority (free Let’s Encrypt certificates have no cost);
  • Software licences and third-party add-ons, premium themes or plugins;
  • Setup, installation, migration and administration fees for work already carried out;
  • Hosting or server renewals (you can cancel before the renewal date to avoid being charged);
  • Account credit and prepaid balances, except where required by law;
  • Services terminated for violation of our Terms of Service or Acceptable Use Policy.

4. EU Right of Withdrawal (Consumers)

If you are a consumer (buying for purposes outside your trade or business) and live in the EU, you have the right to withdraw from a contract for a digital service within 14 days of the contract being concluded, without giving any reason.

  • By placing an order and asking for the service to be activated immediately, you agree that BullHost begins performing the service during the withdrawal period.
  • If you withdraw after the service has started, you pay a proportional amount for the days of service already provided.
  • Where a service has been fully performed at your express request (for example, a completed domain registration or a completed migration), the right of withdrawal no longer applies.
  • For shared hosting, our 30-day money-back guarantee is more generous than the 14-day legal period and applies in addition to it.

Business customers are covered by the money-back guarantee in section 1 but not by the statutory right of withdrawal.

5. Service Availability and Credits

If our hosting service is unavailable for an extended period due to a fault on our side (not scheduled maintenance, your own code or third-party DNS issues), contact us and we will review the case and may issue a service credit on your account. Service credits are not cash refunds.

6. How to Request a Cancellation or Refund

  • Log in to your BullHost account and open a support ticket with the subject “Cancellation / Refund request”;
  • Include your order number, the service or domain concerned, and (optionally) the reason — your feedback helps us improve;
  • We will confirm your request within 2 business days. Before cancellation, please download any website files, databases and email you want to keep — once a service is cancelled, its data is permanently deleted.

7. How Refunds Are Paid

  • Approved refunds are processed within 14 days of our confirmation, using the same payment method you used for the order (card, Revolut, bank transfer) unless we agree otherwise.
  • Cryptocurrency payments are refunded in the same cryptocurrency, based on the EUR value of the order at the time of purchase, to a wallet address you provide. Network/transaction fees are deducted from the refund.
  • Payment processor and currency conversion fees charged by third parties are not refundable.
  • Depending on your bank or card provider, it may take a few extra business days for the money to appear on your statement.

8. Chargebacks

Please contact us before disputing a payment with your bank — we resolve most issues quickly through a support ticket. If a chargeback is opened, the related services may be suspended until the dispute is resolved.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The version that applies is the one published on this page on the date of your order.

10. Contact and Complaints

For any questions about refunds, please open a support ticket on our website. If you are a consumer and are not satisfied with how we handled your complaint, you may contact the Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority (MCCAA) or the consumer authority in your country of residence.
